DC air conditioners can directly run off a battery/solar system without an inverter. When an inverter convert DC to AC, it loses around 10% efficiency. As the reuslt, DC units provides longer run time compared to 110V units and is ideal for off-grid systems.

FAQs
How do DC air conditioners work?
What size RV air conditioner do I need?
The size of the RV air conditioner you need depends on the size of your RV, insulation and the climate in which you will be using it. Normally, 7000BTU is sufficient for vehicle up to 22ft long. A general rule of thumb is to have one 13,500 BTU air conditioner for every 350 square feet of living space.
How long can I run the DC air conditioner off battery?
2000R draws 12V 20-60A depending on the ambient temperature and power setting. When estimate the max run time, we recommend to use 30A as a base line. For example, a 300Ah liuthium battery will power the unit up to 10h. Any additional solar will increase the run time.
Can the unit operate while the vehicle is driving?
Our 12V unit can operate while the vehicle is driving and can be directly powered by vehicle's alternator. There is no need for a second house battery if you plan to use the unit mainly when you are driving. A fully-charged vehicle battery can operate the unit for a small duration of time (around 30 minutes) and the unit has a low-voltage cutoff feature so it does not drain your vehicle battery/
Can I run my RV air conditioner on solar power?
Yes, our 12V unit can operate purly off solar power. If you expect the unit to run only on solar without draining your batteries at all, we recommend 600W+ of solar to power the unit.
How long will my unit last and what is the warranty?
We use only top-quality and validated components and the design lifespan is 5 years+. All ACs come with 1-year warranty and heaters come with 2-year warranty.
